About the Marceline Emporium

The Marceline Emporium got its name from the Disneyland and Walt Disney World shops in those Parks… so it’s fitting to have a shop here in Marceline with a similar name. Our passion is Walt Disney, Classic Disney, and trains.

Tour Guide Dave | Marceline Emporium

The Marceline Emporium was started by Dave Tavres, a former Disneyland history Tour Guide and Disneyland Railroad Steam Locomotive Engineer. Dave also has a background in the software development world, beginning in 1994 doing technical support for dial-up internet access and software. Over the years, Dave has worked at companies such as Microsoft and Sony doing software program management, working with small and large teams, and has done technical consulting for small and large businesses.

Dave has volunteered with many organizations including the Carolwood Foundation, which operates Walt Disney’s Barn in Burbank, California. Dave’s passion for all things Walt Disney and Disneyland, combined with his experience with software and all things technical, is what brought him to creating the Marceline Emporium. Having left the Los Angeles and Las Vegas areas in the early 2020s, he moved to Walt Disney’s hometown of Marceline, Missouri because of its small community and Midwest values. As a student of Walt Disney’s life and business, Dave wants to help preserve and share Walt’s passion, and his legacy of family entertainment, business, and fun.

When you send your collectibles to the Marceline Emporium, Dave puts great effort into making sure your items are safe and protected, and he’ll do his best to sell your treasures as quickly as possible. We encourage you to visit Marceline to see Walt Disney’s hometown, to walk Main Street, USA, and to talk with Dave about the Marceline Emporium, and his interest in Walt Disney and history.
